Indian startup ecosystem continues to see strong investor appetite in design-first and manufacturing innovation plays, as BIDSO, a design-led manufacturing platform focused on toys and consumer products, has raised Rs 63 crore ($6.78 million) in Series A funding. The round was led by Blume Ventures, with participation from Peer Capital, Sadev Capital, and venture debt support from Alteria Capital, signaling growing confidence in India’s evolving product manufacturing ecosystem.
Founded by former executives from Flipkart and Udaan, BIDSO is taking a fundamentally different approach from traditional contract manufacturing. Instead of operating as a pure execution partner, the startup builds IP-led products that brands can directly adopt, scale, and take to market. This shift positions BIDSO closer to a product innovation engine rather than just a production facility, aligning with the rising global demand for differentiated and design-first consumer goods.
At the core of its strategy is an asset-light FOCO (franchise-owned, company-operated) model, which allows the company to expand manufacturing capacity without heavy capital expenditure. This structure not only improves scalability but also helps maintain operational flexibility as demand grows across categories and geographies.

The newly raised capital will be deployed toward strengthening BIDSO’s pipeline of IP-led product development, expanding its footprint into global markets, and enhancing its design and innovation capabilities. The company is actively targeting international expansion across the US, Europe, and the GCC region, while also collaborating with global brands seeking fresh, design-driven product portfolios.
BIDSO growth strategy is ambitious, with plans to scale revenue to around Rs 400-500 crore over the next 2-3 years. This growth is expected to be driven by higher adoption of IP-based offerings and improved operating leverage as its FOCO model scales efficiently.
As venture capital India continues to back startups that blend manufacturing with innovation, BIDSO stands out as part of a new wave of companies reimagining how consumer products are designed, built, and globally distributed.
