Microsoft Outlook Now Includes Claude Extension
Anthropic is expanding Claude integrations for Microsoft Outlook, positioning the platform more directly within enterprise productivity workflows. The integration allows Claude to help users summarize email threads, draft responses, retrieve information from messages and assist with inbox management through natural language interactions. The feature is designed to streamline productivity tasks without requiring users to leave their existing email environment. Building on an earlier announcement in April of the Claude Microsoft 365 Office Apps MCP connector supporting OneDrive, Teams and SharePoint, the extension to Outlook expands Claude's capabilities to the Microsoft 365 Suite.
The Outlook connection is part of a broader effort to integrate Claude with enterprise productivity tools and business workflows. The company emphasized that the feature includes controls intended to align with organizational permissions and data access policies. Claude for Outlook also shares context with Claude for Word, Excel and PowerPoint, so Claude can work across your open Office apps in a single conversation.
