Mythik, the AI-driven entertainment startup founded by Jason Kothari, has secured $5 million in fresh funding, pushing the company’s valuation beyond $50 million. The latest investment round included participation from several prominent business leaders, founders, and family offices, further strengthening investor confidence in the growing intersection of artificial intelligence and digital storytelling.
Among the investors participating in the round are Harsh Jain, Rajat Gupta, and Blume Founders Fund. Additional investors include Zubin Bharti Mittal from the Bharti Mittal Family Office, Ishan Sinha from Point72 private investing, and Rooshabh Shah. Existing investors such as Sakal Media Group, Patni Family Office, and Parekh Family Office also joined the funding round.
The new capital extends Mythik’s earlier $15 million funding round announced in May 2025. Founded in April 2025, the Mumbai-based startup is building an AI-powered entertainment platform focused on transforming Eastern mythology, folklore, and historical narratives into digital content designed for global audiences.
AI Meets Mythology
Mythik uses artificial intelligence to adapt Indian mythology, historical stories, and folk traditions into short-form digital videos, typically ranging from 10 to 12 minutes in duration. The company believes there is a large untapped international audience interested in culturally rooted storytelling and estimates its potential global reach at nearly 3.5 billion people.
The startup aims to create a technology-first entertainment ecosystem that combines AI-driven production with immersive storytelling inspired by Eastern cultures and traditions. According to the company, the additional funding will support expansion across content production, platform development, digital experiences, and consumer products.
“The additional capital will further accelerate the scaling of Mythik’s content slate, technology platform, launch and growth plan across digital experiences and consumer products,” Kothari said.
Mythik also stated that the funding will help build what it described as a “category-defining tech-first global entertainment company” centred around storytelling from Eastern civilizations and cultural heritage.
Product Rollout Expected This Year
Kothari said the company plans to gradually introduce its products and digital experiences in phases later this year. Industry observers believe Mythik’s approach reflects a growing trend where artificial intelligence is increasingly being used to reimagine storytelling, entertainment production, and cultural content for digital-first audiences worldwide.
The development also highlights rising investor interest in AI-powered media startups that combine technology, storytelling, and scalable consumer engagement platforms.
