The plan: Phoenix Union High School in Arizona is looking for a live language interpreting platform that uses artificial intelligence. The district said in its request for proposals that the platform must translate languages with minimal latency in real-time, offer live transcriptions in all supported languages, offer support for both voice and text input and output. It must also have the ability to support large-scale events with more than 1,000 participants, as well as smaller meetings and one-on-oner interactions. The system must support 50 languages at minimum, including Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Arabic, American Sign Language, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Burmese, Karen, Somali, Kunama, Dari, Rohingya, Amharic, French, Tigrinya, Karen Ni, Bembe (Kibembe), and Bengali. The platform should also be continuously improving through the use of machine learning. Questions must be submitted through the district’s online bidding platform.
San Jacinto Unified School District, Calif.
Focus: Expanded learning opportunity program

The plan: San Jacinto Unified School District in California is seeking a provider to manage and staff a before and/or after-school expanded learning program, funded by the After School Education and Safety and Expanded Learning Opportunities state programs. According to the district’s request for proposals, the provider must offer academic support, enrichment, and physical activities. All staffing should maintain a 10:1 ratio for transitional kindergarten and kindergarten, and a 20:1 for grades 1 and above.
